Since it is often desirable to know how a (remote) temperature sensor reacts to different environments, it would be extremely useful to have the ability to simulate such NTC Thermistor behavior based on known simulation profiles. Vishay offers such capability through a progressive NTC Thermistor LT SPICE model that allows for simulations of sensor reaction for any such temperature profile; all it needs is to be calibrated. Calibration can simply be achieved by taking one measurement of the sensor response to an impulse. This new dynamic Vishay model is highly advantageous to the designer as it can accurately simulate different scenarios helping to find the best product fit and ultimately saves time and cost by not having to build multiple boards for environmental testing beyond that which is required for qualification.
