The VSMY3850 is an infrared surface emitter in a PLCC-2 surface mount package measuring 2.8 mm x 3.0 mm with a height of 1.65 mm. At 100 mA forward current, it has radiant intensity of 17 mW/sr and optical power of 55 mW, higher than any competitor. This PLCC-2 part is pin compatible, meaning the Vishay part can be directly dropped in to replace the competitor’s part.
