A850 Series Infrared Surface Emitters Slide 2

A standard infrared emitter emits light in all directions. A reflector is typically needed to redirect side emissions forward. With the surface emitting technology, nearly all the light and power is emitted out the top. Resulting in intensity levels that are 2x, 3x and 4x greater than those produced by standard technology. Surface emitting technology is particularly useful for surface mount packages and chip on board applications.
