The LC60 microcontroller line is the first LCD controller family with an S08 core. In addition to an LCD controller, it has an internal charge pump, making it a well-integrated solution requiring fewer external components, resulting in saving costs and ease of design. The LCD controller in the LC60 can drive up to 160 segments and is designed to operate in several modes to optimize power consumption, as per system requirements. Another highlight in the LC60 is the dual flash arrays and EEPROM emulation capability. These features allow for execution of codes from one block while writing to or erasing from another. The LC60 supports high resolution analog circuitry and has an 8-channel, 12-bit A-to-D converter with a built-in comparator. It also supports SPI, I²C, SCI, and RTI interfaces. Support for the SPI interface allows for easy communications with ZigBee radio modules. In addition, customers will have a migration path to either lower power micros in both the RS08 and the S08 lines and to micros with increased features and increased segment count.
