WE-MAPI Miniature High-Current Inductors

The smallest high-current inductor series available from Würth Elektronik

Image of Würth Elektronik’s WE-MAPI High Current InductorWürth Elektronik has released their latest and smallest high-current inductor family, WE-MAPI. The MAPIs measure only 2.5 x 2.0 x 0.6 mm, the smallest metal-alloy inductors in the market. In addition, Würth Elektronik manufactures this family in higher profiles, in the 3.0 x 3.0 mm size. These inductors are equipped with iron alloy core material, which allows compact design with high-current capability. The WE-MAPI family was designed to achieve low DCRs and high saturation currents for an optimum performance in high switching-frequency DC/DC converters (>1 MHz). As an EMC specialist, Würth Elektronik designed the parts with low acoustic noise and low leakage flux noise. The WE-MAPI devices are laid out and rated for the use in the industrial environment, and therefore rated for an operation temperature of -40°C to +125°C. They feature a rugged design with large soldering pads.

The WE-MAPIs are designed for use in a large number of applications, such as DC/DC converters for FPGA, POL converters, as well as DC/DC converters with high switching frequencies in handheld or other miniature applications.
