The STMicroelectronics X-NUCLEO-IKS5A1 industrial evaluation kit for motion MEMS and environmental sensors includes the X-NUCLEO-IND5A1 main board, which hosts the sensor set along with the detachable STEVAL‑MKGIO7A add‑on board featuring two industrial connectors for expanded connectivity.

This expansion platform enables application development using advanced capabilities such as a finite state machine (FSM), machine learning core (MLC), intelligent sensor processing unit (ISPU), and sensor hub functions, integrating the ISM330IS and ISM6HG256X sensors. The kit also supports external sensor integration through DIL24 adapter boards, ribbon cables, or flex PCB connections.

Development is further streamlined through compatibility with the ST Edge AI Suite, including tools like MEMS‑Studio for sensor configuration and HSDatalog for high‑speed data acquisition.
