Flame Barrier FRB Series

3M introduces the Flame Barrier FRB series for OEM electrical flame barrier applications. It is a thin, flexible insulation made primarily of inorganic materials that is easily converted. The FRB barrier provides the very high flammability and ignitability resistance, excellent arc and track resistance, good dielectric strength, and good thermal performance to safely contain electrical hazards. The target barrier applications include general purpose lighting luminaires (including LED type), electric and electric hybrid vehicles (such as between batteries, power converters), appliances (vacuum cleaners, slow cookers, rice cookers, and others), and electrical devices (timers, actuators, switches, and more).

These thin and flexible flame barriers are available in roll or sheet form and can be easily converted to produce quality die-cut parts and assembled into a finished product.
